National Girl Scout Cookie Weekend begins

Wednesday, February 5, 2014

The Girl Scout Cookie Program will shift from girls taking pre-orders to the next phase, which includes cookie delivery and direct sales beginning Feb. 7, marking the start of National Girl Scout Cookie Weekend.

Girl Scouts will continue their cookie business until March 9 with door-to-door sales and at booths outside local merchants.

The Girl Scout Cookie Program teaches essential leadership skills, such as goal-setting, decision-making, money management, people skills and business ethics.

This year, there are eight cookie varieties available: Thin Mints, Caramel deLites, Peanut Butter Patties, Peanut Butter Sandwich, Shortbread, Thanks-A-Lot, Lemonades and new this year, Cranberry Citrus Crisps.

Cookies are $4 per box, with all proceeds staying local to support leadership program activities, financial assistance, volunteer training and other resources for area Girl Scouts. To find a local Girl Scout cookie booth, people may use the booth locator tool at, or call 877-312-4764.
