Louis Joseph Metz, 60, of Monett, entered into eternal rest on Thursday, January 23, 2014, at Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri. He was born on January 22, 1954, in Providence, Rhode Island, the son of Elizabeth (Deming) Metz and the late Louis Frances Metz. He was united in marriage on February 26, 1999, in Springfield, Missouri, to Marianne Beary, and she survives.

He was a pharmacist and the owner of Old Towne Pharmacy, Old Towne Strip Mall, and Encore Furniture in Monett, Missouri, Sater Pharmacy in Cassville, Missouri, and Sunshine Health Mart Pharmacy in Springfield, Missouri. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Cassville and Habitat for Humanity for seven years, serving as vice president for five of those seven years.

Louis is survived by his wife, Marianne, of the home; mother, Elizabeth, of St. Louis, Missouri; one son, Matthew Metz, of Springfield, Missouri; one daughter, Lauren Winegard, of Springfield, Missouri; one stepdaughter, Wendy C. Coberly, of Spokane, Missouri; three brothers, Paul Metz, of St. Louis, Missouri, David Metz, of St. Peters, Missouri, and Ted Metz, of

Pennsylvania; one sister, Joyce Muller, of Paradise Valley, Arizona; and seven grandchildren, Kristina, Alex, Ragan, Abby and Ben Winegard, of Springfield, Missouri, and Karinne and Austin Coberly, of Spokane, Missouri.

Visitation for Louis was held Tuesday, January 28, 2014, from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Bennett-Wormington Funeral Home in Monett, Missouri. Funeral services were held today (Wednesday) January 29, 2014, at 11:00 a.m. at the First Baptist Church in Cassville, Missouri, with Rev. James Weaver officiating. Burial follow services at Springfield, Missouri. Memorial donations for Louis may be made to the Habitat for Humanity in Cassville, Missouri.
