Southwest High School students Jerod Black, left, Jessica Morgan, center and Sangelina Taylor brave the cobwebs and the dark as they head down to explore the cellar of the historic Bayless House in Cassville last week. The students, all in Southwest graduate Linda Morgan's 11th-grade Advanced Placement Language class, were at the house doing research for their assignment, which is to write a research paper on the history of Barry County. A group of Southwest High School students get a history lesson from Georgia Hart, of the Barry County Genealogical and Historical Society. The society bought the condemned in 2000, saving it from being destroyed. Those pictured include, from left: John Mulkey, Hart, Brittney Hackett, Tyler Bernard and Cory Ball.
