Jackie Lee "Jack" Lowe, 72, of Cassville, passed away Monday, Jan. 13, 2014, in Mercy Hospital in Cassville.
He was born on April 12, 1941, to James Benton and Nadine (Allison) Lowe. On Oct. 17, 1969, in Cassville, he was united in marriage to Pauletta Thomas, who survives. Additional survivors include: one son, Jackie D. Lowe, of Cassville; one daughter, Krista R. Lowe, of Cassville; one granddaughter, Skylar J. Lowe, of Cassville; one brother, Troy A. Lowe, of Cassville; and his father-in-law, Paul R. Thomas, of Purdy.
Preceding him in death were his parents; one brother, Jim Lowe; and his mother-in-law, Juanita Thomas.
He was a graduate of Exeter High School. He served in the U.S. Army for six years, from 1959 until 1965. He was a member of American Legion Post 118. For 27 years, he was employed at Contel Telephone Company, from which he retired. He was a reserve deputy sheriff for the Barry County Sheriff's Department for 41 years and the McDonald County Sheriff's Department for four years. On Dec. 3, 1995, he graduated from the Police Academy at Missouri Southern State College. He was named Reserve Deputy of the Year by the Missouri Sheriff's Association in 2005. Jack was a member of the Barry County Cruisers Club. He was also a board member of the Jenkins Fire Protection District.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday in Fohn Funeral Home, Cassville. Pastor Leroy Pugh will conduct the services. Burial, with military honors, will be at Oak Ridge Cemetery, Cassville.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today (Wednesday) in Fohn Funeral Home, Cassville.
