Norma Jean (Richmond) Prewitt, 80, of Wheaton, passed away on Jan. 11, 2014. She was born on Aug. 12, 1933, at home in Rocky Comfort, one of six children born to Kenneth and Dora Richmond. She was united in marriage to Lester L. Prewitt on Feb. 27, 1950, in Eureka Springs, Ark. To this union eight children were born.

Survivors include: Larry and his wife, Diane, of Exeter, Jeannie, of Wheaton, Howard and his wife, Angela, of Wheaton, Renea and her husband, Gary, of Cassville, Brian and his wife, Lisa, of Exeter, and Shelly and her husband, Richard, of Wheaton; 22 grandchildren; and 24 great-grandchildren.

She attended Rocky Comfort School. She was a member of Ridgley Baptist Church. She was a life-long homemaker.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Lester, on Aug. 5, 2012; two infant sons, Charles and Jackie, one granddaughter; her parents; four brothers; and one sister.

Funeral services were held today (Wednesday) in Ridgley Baptist Church under direction of McQueen Funeral Home, Wheaton. Pastor Scott Mitchell and Pastor Tony Ball conducted the services. Burial was at Chitwood Cemetery, Wheaton.
