The 14-and-under Monett Grizzlies baseball team, pictured above, concluded the 2013 season in Columbia by winning the Show-Me State Championships. This was the third consecutive year the Grizzlies won the championship. During the course of the 2013 season, Monett collected six tournament titles along with a trio of second places finishes. The Grizzlies competed as a traveling USSSA AA team in 2013 and ended the year ranked first in the state of Missouri and fourth overall AA team in the nation. The Grizzlies have been playing competitive baseball for the past six years. The team was formed and is sponsored by Scott Wright, owner of the Bullpen in Monett. Scott Sangston serves as the team manager and head coach with assistant coach Dan Swearingen.
