Loyd Nimon Ellis
|Loyd Nimon Ellis, 91, of Seligman, passed away Thursday, Jan. 2, 2014, in his home.|
He was born June 2, 1922, in Washburn, the son of James Franklin "Frank" and Sarah (Mahurin) Ellis. On Sept. 20, 1941, in Washburn, he was united in marriage to Delma Harrell, who survives.
Additional survivors include: one son, Jimmy Ellis, of Washburn; one daughter, Fran Horton, of Diamond; two sons-in-law, Eli Bryant, II, of Morehead, Ky., and Billy Boyd, of Granby; one sister, Vivian O'Donnell, of Jacket; three grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and two great-great- grandchildren.
Preceding him in death were his parents; one daughter, Laveta "Tweedle" Boyd; three brothers, Lemmie, James and Bob Ellis; one sister, Velma Stephens; one daughter-in-law, Connie Ellis; and one grandson.
He grew up at Washburn and received his education at Measle Prairie School. He was a cattle farmer his entire life.
Funeral services were held Monday in Fohn Funeral Home, Cassville. Rick Hendrix conducted the services. Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Dent Cemetery, Seligman.
