Charles R. "Doc" Rose
Charles R. "Doc" Rose, 80, of Washburn, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 18, 2013, in his home.
He was born Jan. 4, 1933, in Washburn, the son of Johnny J. and Queen Isabella (Cargile) Rose. On April 22, 1953, in Washburn, he was united in marriage to Mary Bruton, who survives.
Additional survivors include: two sons, David Rose and his wife, Ronda, of Exeter, and Rick Rose and his wife, Kris, of Pea Ridge, Ark.; five brothers, J.D. Rose and his wife, Janet, of Washburn, Russell Rose and his wife, Ronnie, and Sam Rose and his wife, Helen, all of Cassville, John Rose and his wife, Sue, of Republic, and Glen Rose and his wife, Drucie, of Washburn; two sisters, Lola Bell Vanzandt and her husband, Carroll, of Washburn, and Lula Dell Patrick, of Rogers, Ark.; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Preceding him in death were his parents; one son, Richard Gale Rose and one granddaughter.
He grew up and received his education at Washburn. He was a self-employed logger and life-long resident of Washburn.
He was a member of Mission Baptist Church at Washburn, where services were held Saturday under direction of Fohn Funeral Home, Cassville. Pastor Dayton Brattin conducted the services. Burial with military honors will be in Washburn Prairie Cemetery at Washburn.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 P.M. Friday in Fohn Funeral Home, Cassville.
