SUPPORT GROUP: The Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) group of Cassville meets at 8 p.m. at 1308 Harold St. in Cassville. For more information, call 846-4044.

SUPPORT GROUP: Anyone who is concerned about a friend's or loved one's drinking is invited to attend the Cassville Al-Anon Family Group, which meets at 8 p.m. at the United Methodist Church in Cassville.

MEETING: The Mineral Springs Road District will meet in regular session at 5:30 p.m. at the district road barn.

Friday, Dec. 13

EVENT: A benefit for Dustin Griffis, a Cassville High School student diagnosed with Stage 4 Hodgkin's Lymphoma, will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. on and the Cassville High School commons area. The meal of chili or ham and beans, cornbread, dessert and a beverage will cost $7. An auction and live music is also planned.

EVENT: Herrin Animal Hospital in Cassville will host an open house and toy drive all day. Toys will be donated to local organizations for distribution to children in need in Barry County.

Saturday, Dec. 14

EVENT: The Wheaton Historical Society and the Wheaton Depot Museum will hold their annual Christmas Open House on Saturday, at 3 p.m. at the Wheaton Depot Museum.

EVENT: City of Washburn will host its annual parade starting at 11 a.m. Parade route starts at the Baptist Church and proceed past City Hall to Main Street to Highway 90, to Second Street and conclude at the Baptist Church.

EVENT: City of Seligman will hold its parade at 2 p.m. Line-up starts at 1 p.m. at Dollar General Store on Main Street. The parade route continues up Main to City Hall. Santa Claus will make a special stop at City Hall following the parade to hand out treats to youngsters.

EVENT: Wheaton's annual Christmas parade will be held at 6 p.m. Santa will be at the Wheaton Depot Museum before and after the parade for photos and to visit. The parade kicks off at 6 p.m. from Body of Christ Ministries, (formerly Gizmo's Event Center), on Highway 86 to Main Street and concludes at Wheaton School.

EVENT: The Shell Knob Chamber of Commerce will host its annual Christmas Tour of Homes from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. For more information, call the Chamber office at 417-858-3300.
