Francis E. Foxen
Francis E. Foxen, 88, of Cassville, formerly of Prunedale, Calif., passed away on Thursday, Dec. 5, 2013, in his home. He was born on March 18, 1925, in Cheyenne, Wyo., to Charles A. and Blanche (Sonnen) Foxen. He enlisted in the Army in 1943, where he served in Italy and France under General Patton. He also served in Normandy, where he received a purple heart. On July 29, 1948, he was united in marriage to Dolores Carter in San Cruz, Calif. He worked as a truck driver for Mayflower moving company, and was a manager of a carpet warehouse for a number of years. He was a lifetime member of the VFW Post 4207 in Monett, Disabled American Veterans, and the American Legion.
Survivors include: one son, John Foxen and his wife, Pam, of Holdenville, Okla.; two daughters, Patricia Hall, and her husband, Donald, of Mesa, Ariz.; Joyce Carter, and her husband, Ted, of Cassville; 11 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by one infant sister, and one infant grandson.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 2 p.m. at the White Funeral Home, Cassville.
