The Christmas Show on tap this weekend
The Cassville Area Chamber of Commerce will host its fifth annual Christmas Show on Thursday, Dec. 5 and Friday, Dec. 6 at the Cassville School FEMA Building and Event Center. Show starts at 7:30 p.m. and will highlight the talents of the HomeTown Sound and the RedHots, along with other local vocalists.
The fifth annual Christmas Show will feature 20 Christmas songs, both traditional and contemporary selections, and a 20-minute intermission, with concessions provided by the Cassville High School Project Graduation.
Two young performers, who made their first Show appearance this fall, will return to the stage along with new vocalist TJ Matthews. Matthews is a 2013 Cassville graduate.
Ten of the vocalists performing have been a part of the Christmas show since its inception in 2009.
"The band and the performers work hard to make sure the Christmas Show offers both traditional favorites and something a little different for the holiday season," said Greg Beck, director of the Christmas Show. "For example, we will have Neil Diamond's version of "The Little Drummer Boy," "The Man with the Bag" by Kay Starr and "White Christmas" by the Supremes.
"There are 596 versions of White Christmas, and this will be the fifth year we will offer a new version of this song," Beck added.
Advanced tickets are available for $6 per person at the Cassville Area Chamber of Commerce or any of our local banks. Kids 12 and under are admitted free of charge.
