Delphena Mae Padgett
Delphena Mae Padgett, 79, of Cassville, passed away at her residence on Monday, Dec. 2, 2013. She was born on July 4, 1934, daughter of Orval and Golda Mae (Maloney) Lester, in Jenkins. She graduated from Cassville High School in 1952. On Nov. 8, 1953, she was united in marriage to Francis Lyle Padgett.
She worked for Cox Monett Hospital as a housekeeper for 21 years. She was a member of the Aurora Church of Christ, the Barry County Women's Democratic Club, and the Homing Racing Pigeon Club.
Survivors include: her husband of 60 years, Lyle Padgett, of Exeter; one son, Raymond Dean Padgett and his wife Dorothy, of Marionville; two daughters, Sheila Friend and her husband Danny, of Pierce City, and Nancy Faye Nunez and her husband Antonio, of Butterfield; three grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; 12 step-grandchildren; 21 step-great-grandchildren; and one brother-in-law, Royle Brooks.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sons, Daniel Luke Padgett, and Rhuel Dale Padgett; and one sister, Lucille Brooks.
Funeral services will be held on Friday at the White Funeral Home & Crematory at 10 a.m. with Roger Owens, minister, officiating. The burial will follow at Clio Cemetery in Jenkins.
The family will receive friends on Thursday from 5 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
