Walter L. Kraft
Walter L. Kraft, 92, of Holiday Island, Ark., passed away Monday, Nov. 25, 2013, in his home.
He was born June 10, 1921, in Oakes, N.D., the son of Lewis E.W. and Velma L. (Hess) Kraft. On March 25, 2000, in Eagle Rock, he was united in marriage to Vascilla "Sue" (Nicolulis) Richards, who survives.
Also survivors include: one son, David Walter Kraft, of Bozeman, Mont.; a stepson, Paul Richards; three brothers, Ernest Kraft, Kenneth Kraft and Ray Kraft; one granddaughter, Cassandra Kraft; four step-grandchildren; and several step-great-grandchildren.
Preceding him in death were his parents; his first wife, Lois, who was the mother of his two sons; his second wife, Vernice; one son, Bruce Wayne Kraft; one stepson, Tom Richards; one brother, Clifford Kraft; and one sister, Eleanor Perkins.
|He grew up and received his education in North Dakota, graduating from Oakes High School. During World War II he served his country in the U.S. Army Air Corp, from Oct. 15, 1942, to Jan. 9, 1946. For more than 30 years, he worked for Otter Tail Power Company in Velva and Wahpeton, N.D., retiring as manager of the corporate warehouse. In 1985, he moved to Holiday Island, Ark. He was a member of All Faith United Methodist Church in Eagle Rock.||Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday in All Faith United Methodist Church, Eagle Rock, under direction of Fohn Funeral Home, Cassville. Pastor Karen Tutak will conduct the services.|
