Ruth Fern Taylor, 91, formerly of Everton and Wheaton areas, passed away Saturday, Nov. 16, 2013, at Cox Monett Hospital.

She was born Nov. 23, 1921, near Green City to Frank and Nellie (Martin) Gray. On Dec. 24, 1942, at Kirksville, she was united in marriage to E.H. "Ed" Taylor, who preceded her in death on June 27, 2001. Also preceding her in death were her parents, two brothers and three sisters.

Surviving include: her two daughters, Shirley and her husband, Milt VanWelde, of Lombard, Ill., and Judy and her husband, Rev. Dale Keel, of Jenkins; and six granddaughters.

Some of her many jobs were working for the war effort during World War II at an ammunition plant, while her husband was in the South Pacific in the Navy. She was a farmer, office worker, worked in the hospital in accounting and a garment factory worker.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday in Liberty Baptist Church, Everton, under direction of McQueen Funeral Home, Wheaton. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in Muncie Chapel Cemetery, Wheaton.
