Four injured in two-car crash

Four people were injured in a two-vehicle crash at 4:43 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 10, on Highway 39 in Viola.

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, the crash occurred when the river of a 1992 Dodge Dakota, Michael R. Cox, 56, of Shell Knob, was stopped in the driving lane to make a turn and was struck from behind by a 2007 Ford Explorer, driven by Norma D. Dutton, 76, of Shell Knob.

Two passengers in the Cox vehicle sustained minor injuries. They were Courtney R. Jones, 25, and Leslie W. Jones, 37, both of Shell Knob. Cox also sustained minor injuries, as did Dutton. All the injured were taken to Mercy Hospital in Berryville, Ark. All victims were wearing seat belts.
