James Adair, 38, of Seligman, passed away on Tuesday, Nov. 5, 2013, at Cox South, Springfield. He was born on Aug. 18, 1975, son of William and Dina (Schumaker) Adair, in Watsonville, Calif. In 1999, he was united in marriage to Nelda Mayes in Cushing, Okla. He worked as a correctional officer with the Oklahoma Prison Systems in Tulsa until his health declined.
Survivors include: one son, Caleb Adair, of the home; one daughter, Amber Adair, of Tuscon, Ariz.; his mother, Dina Benton, of Seligman; one brother, Daniel Silveira and his wife, Sukie, of Phoenix, Ariz.; his grandmother, Thelma Carpenetti, of Big Cedar, Okla.
In addition to his father and grandfather, Joseph Carpenetti, he was preceded in death by an infant son, Michael James.
Services were held Saturday at the First Baptist Church in Seligman, with Chaplain Bob Elder officiating.
Cremation arrangements were under the direction of White Funeral Home & Crematory, Cassville.
