Carl Ray Ellis
Carl Ray Ellis, 69, of Wheaton, passed away Friday, Nov. 8, 2013, in Freeman West Hospital in Joplin.
He was born Aug. 27, 1944, in Wheaton, the son of Lemmie and Dean (Harrell) Ellis. On July 29, 1966, he was united in marriage to Carolyn Rowe, who preceded him in death on Sept. 4, 2008. Also preceding him in death were his parents and one daughter, Gina Littlefield.
Survivors include: two daughters, Shelley Beardsley and her husband, Danny, of Ritchey, and Lisa McNeill and her husband, Kevin, of Wheaton; one sister, Shirley Sailsbury, of Reeds; 12 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
He grew up and received his education at Wheaton, where he graduated from high school. He was a life-long resident of Wheaton, running a chicken farm and was a self-employed carpenter. He and Carolyn owned Burgers and More for several years. He was a member of The Wheaton Saddle Club and served on the board and rode with the drill team for many years.
Funeral services were held Tuesday in McQueen Funeral Home, Wheaton. Pastor Paul Wahlert conducted the services. Burial was at Hazel Green Cemetery, Boulder City.
