Friday, Nov. 8

EVENT: The Barry-Lawrence County Development Center is celebrating its 40th anniversary with a reception and benefit auction at the Monett Park Casino. Reception is from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. and the silent auction until 7 p.m. A live auction begins at 7:15 p.m.

EVENT: Cassville Church of the Nazarene will host a revival with Rev. Terry and Joyce Patterson starting at 6:30 p.m. nightly through Sunday, Nov. 10.

EVENT: Fairview Baptist Church will host a chili benefit from 5 to 7 p.m. at the church, located three miles west of Shell Knob on Farm Road 2190. All proceeds will be used for new flooring in the sanctuary.

Saturday, Nov. 9

EVENT: Fairview Quilt and Craft show from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Hammons Community Center at the park in Fairview. Lunch will be available from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

EVENT: The Cassville Cruisers car club members will hold their last cruise-in of the year from 3 p.m. to dusk at the Barry County Museum. Veterans in attendance will be honored.

SUPPORT GROUP: Celebrate Recovery will meet at the Golden Baptist Church, on Highway J in Golden, at 7 p.m. A dinner will be served at 6:15 p.m. The support group is for anyone with hurts, habits or hangups.

MEETING: The Barry County Tax Board for the Developmentally Disabled will meet at 6:30 p.m. at the Cassville Branch Library meeting room.

EVENT: Elder law attorney Sativia Boatman-Sloan will speak at the TrueCare Assisted Living Dementia/Alzheimer's Support Group meeting at 10 a.m. at the TrueCare Assisted Living facility located on Highway YY in Shell Knob.

EVENT: Southwest Missouri Solid Waste Management District N will hold its annual council meeting at 11:50 a.m. at Utopian Bean Coffee House in Purdy. The executive board meeting will immediately follow at 12:30 p.m. The group will meet at 11 a.m. to tour the Recycling Center at Purdy R-2 School District. All meetings are open to the public.
