Mary Rozella Decocq

Mary Rozella Decocq, 88, of Cassville, passed away on Friday, Nov. 1, 2013, at Mercy Hospital in Cassville. She was born on Aug. 9, 1925, daughter of Vernie and Ora (London) Cantrell, in Wheaton. She graduated from Wheaton High School in 1943, and on May 29, 1944, she was united in marriage to Olan Decocq in Wheaton; he preceded her in death on Nov. 6, 1997. In 1954, they left the Barry County area and moved to Royal Oak, Mich., where he worked for the Grand Trunk Railroad. She was a school bus driver for the Birmingham School District in Michigan. In 1986, they both retired and returned to Cassville.

She was a member of the Victory Baptist Church in Cassville.

Survivors include: one son, Paul L. Decocq and his wife, Amy, of Howell, Mich.; two daughters, Carol S. Tippen, of Mannheim, Germany, and Janet K. Decocq, of Joplin; four grandsons; one granddaughter; and one great-granddaughter.

In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by one brother, Darrell Cantrell, and one sister, Yvonne Elliot.

Funeral services were held today (Wednesday) at the White Funeral Home and Crematory, Cassville, with Pastor Russell Bishop officiating.
