Stubblefields rock the trail at Blue Springs

Lee and Josie Stubblefield, of Cassville, went to Blue Springs for the 19th annual Little Blue Trace Trail Runs on Sunday, Oct. 27. Hosted by the Blue Springs Runners, the festival includes the half marathon, marathon, 50K, and 50-mile distances.

Running in her first half-marathon and her first race longer than the 5K distance, Josie Stubblefield posted a 2:04 over the 13.1 mile course.

Lee Stubblefield was the overall winner in the 50-mile race. His time of 8 hours 38 minutes and 31 seconds, setting a new single-age Missouri record for males, age 57. It was his first time running the 50-mile distance.
