Jack-o-lantern contest benefits Million Meals

Wednesday, October 23, 2013

Arvest Bank, in Cassville, is hosting a jack-o-lantern contest for customers and area residents to benefit the organization's One Million Meals campaign.

Staffers have carved pumpkins for the community to judge. To vote, area residents are asked to stop by the Cassville branch, located at 505 Main St., and drop spare change in the cup next to their favorite pumpkin. Proceeds will benefit the Cassville Community Food Pantry and help "scare" away hunger in the community.

Arvest Bank's One Million Meals campaign challenges bank associates, customers and communities to provide at least one million meals for hungry families across Arkansas, Missouri, Oklahoma and Kansas. Now in its third year, the bank has raised more than 1.38 million meals in 2012. A total of 53 organizations in the four-state service area will benefit from the effort this year.
