Local runners earn road race medals

Area high school runners have been busy collecting medals on the road race circuit.

Jerry Ragsdale, of Monett, was the overall winner at the Nixa Azalea Festival Half Marathon back on September 13. Ragsdale won by over two minutes over the closest challenger, with a winning time of 1:27:56.

Ron Bouchard, of Cassville, placed second in the 45-to-49 age division of the Mother Road Half Marathon at Joplin on Sunday, Oct. 13. Bouchard was 19th overall in the field of 250, finishing the hilly course in 1:45:15.

Josie Stubblefield, of Cassville, won the female Master's Division of the annual Halloween Hustle 5K in Springfield on Saturday, Oct. 19. Stubblefield placed fourth among all women runners and 33rd overall in the field of 143. She posted a personal best time of 26:38.
