|Majourie Geneieve Hubert, (Granny) 94, of Cassville, passed away on Wednesday, Oct. 16, 2013. ||She was born on July 2, 1919, in Weatherford, Okla., daughter of Homer and Lola (Birden) Tickel. The youngest of six girls, she was raised by her father, after the untimely death of her mother. On Nov. 20, 1937, she was united in marriage to Charles Hubert in Tijuana, Mexico. She was a very dedicated military wife while her husband was serving our country in the U.S. Navy. They were stationed in Honolulu, Hawaii, during the attack on Pearl Harbor. After Charles retired from the Navy, they made the Ozarks their home near Berryville, Ark., and in Washburn. After the death of her husband, she moved to Cassville. She was a volunteer with the Red Cross in Cassville, a member of the VFW Auxiliary Post 4205, and attended North Point Church in Cassville.|
Survivors include: two daughters, Marjourie Parish and her husband, Ron, of Cassville, and Loraine Blevins, also of Cassville; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Charles Hubert; and five sisters, Peggy Haver, Frances Jungers, Evelyn Stokes, Gertrude Tickle and Helen Justus.
|At her request, no services will be held. A private family Celebration of Life was held on Sunday. ||Cremation arrangements are under the direction of the White Funeral Home and Crematory, Cassville.|
