Interest in archery has taken a leap in numbers since the release of the popular teen movie The Hunger Games. Students at Friday's WOW event at Roaring River State Park took aim at learning the basics of archery in the outdoor class taught by James Mitchell.

Something's cookin' Larry Quinalty, pictured above, demonstrated the art of cooking cinnamon buns in a Dutch oven at last Friday's WOW event at Roaring River State Park. The weekend was devoted to teaching a number of outdoor classes in wilderness survival, archery, backpacking and cooking.
Wilderness survival Several avid outdoorsmen and women participated in the wilderness survival class held on Friday, Oct. 11 at Roaring River State Park in Cassville. Topics included primitive skills such as building a fire, finding food and water, awareness and more at the annual fall WOW event.
