October is Fire Prevention Month

October is Fire Prevention Month and children at Sonbeam Day Care, at the First United Methodist Church in Cassville, learned some important lessons on fire safety last week from Assistant Fire Chief Chuck Miner, of the Cassville Fire Protection District. Miner demonstrated what firefighters wearing bunker gear looked and sounded like, as well as allowed children to inspect the fire engine. Miner reminds area residents it's time to change batteries in their fire alarms when Daylight Saving Time ends on Nov. 3. The Cassville Fire Protection District also has free fire alarms to distribute to citizens in the district. Pictured above with "Mr. Chuck" are: Chloe, Caden, Shane, Adam, Rylen, Rayden, Kailyn, Brily, Riley, Dylan, Ricky, Tyler and Slade.
