Cassville volleyball tops Monett

The Cassville Lady Wildcats volleyball team defeated Monett in three sets on Oct. 3

The Lady Wildcats (5-7-6) won the first set 25-17, but dropped the second set 25-2.

The third and final set was a seesaw affair but Cassville prevailed 26-24.

Monett (2-14-1) was led by Kiley Franke with five kills and two blocks. Megan Ballay dished out 19 assists. Faith Schmidt collected 20 digs and Brooke McLean served up three aces.

Cassville was paced by Jade Null's 12 kills. Lindsay Nolan recorded 26 assists and 10 digs. Sydney Carnes collected 10 digs and Britani Long finished with two digs.


On Oct. 7, Cassville fell in 3 sets to Clever.

The Lady Wildcats won the first set 26-24, but dropped the next two 21-25 and 15-25.

Null finished the game with 12 kills. Nolan added 22 assists and two aces. Kelsey Roney recorded 11 digs and Ashley Krallman contributed four solo blocks and one block assist.

"We did several things well tonight and made adjustments when necessary," said Cassville coach Jennifer Nichols. "In the end we fell short to a talented team."

Cassville hosts Carl Junction on Oct. 10. Matches begin at 6 p.m.
