Clay to Sculpture two-day workshop set

Creative Arts of Shell Knob will present a Clay to Sculpture workshop, led by professional sculptor Lew Aytes, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 15 and Wednesday, Oct. 16, at Lakeside Christian Church in Shell Knob. Cost of materials is $65. Those planning to attend are urged to take a sack lunch. Beginner and experienced artists are welcome. Falling for Art

Falling for Art, an artist showing and festival sponsored by Creative Arts of Shell Knob, will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 12 at the CCC Park, located on Highway YY in Shell Knob. The event will feature performing arts, children's art activities, local artists and music. Concessions will be provided.

Train ride to Van Buren, Ark., slated

The Seligman Chamber of Commerce is planning a train ride to Van Buren, Ark., in observance of Arts and Crafts Days on Saturday, Oct. 12. The all-day trip includes a trip through the Boston Mountains over rivers and three trestles and through the Winslow Tunnel for shopping in Van Buren. Eagle Rock Daze

Mark your calendars now for Eagle Rock Daze, taking place from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 26. Breakfast, hosted by the Eagle Rock-Golden-Mano Fire Department, will kick off the event at 7 a.m., and will feature eggs, bacon, sausage, biscuits and gravy and a beverage for $6. A car show is slated for 10 a.m., followed by "Howloween," starting at 3 p.m. Booth and vendor spaces are still available at a cost of $20. For more information, call John Stilwell at 342-7923.

Seligman Lions host dance

The Seligman Lions Club will hold its monthly dance from 7 to 10 p.m. on Thursday, October 3 at the Seligman Community Building, located at 29144 South Main St. in Seligman. Frosty Garland and the Road Hogs will be playing for this event. There is a $4.00 cover charge and snacks are optional. All proceeds from this dance will benefit the Seligman Lions Club projects. B-L libraries closed for training

All branches of the Barry-Lawrence Regional Library will be closed on Monday, Oct. 14 for the library district's annual Staff training day.

Freedom Bank's customer appreciation days

Freedom Bank of southern Misouri will celebrate Customer Appreciation Week on Sept. 30 through Oct. 5 at its Cassville and Seligman locations. This year's theme is the Great American Fair as Freedom Bank delivers a special "thanks" to all its blue ribbon customers. Banking customers can register for over $1,250 in cash and prizes. A Bue Ribbon dinner culminates the festivities from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 4 in Cassville and on Saturday, Oct. 5 in Seligman.

Farmers Market hours change

Cassville Farmers Market on the Square hours have are now 8 a.m. to noon on Saturdays until the season ends on Nov. 23.

Cassville Cruisers host monthly meeting

The Cassville Cruisers car club members will hold their monthly meeting at 7 p.m. on October 8 at Papa Vito's in Cassville. All car enthusiasts are invited to attend.

Vietnam Veterans plan meeting

Local Vietnam Veterans Chapter #1023 will meet at 4 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 6 at Angus Branch Restaurant, formerly Grant's, on Highway 60 in Monett. The group meets on the first Sunday of each mnth. For more information, call Paul at 471-271-3835.

Solid Waste Region N meeting

The Southwest Missouri Solid Waste Management District N will hold its regularly scheduled Executive Board Meeting at 11:50 a.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 15 at Angus Branch Steakhouse, formerly Grant's, in Monett. The meeting is open to the public.

Walk Your Kids to School Day

The mayor, community leaders and school personnel at Exeter will be observing National Walk Your Kids to School Day at 7:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 9. Students will gather at the First Baptist Church parking lot for muffins and juice. Each participating student will receive a goodie bag of treats.

Mineral Springs Road District to meet

The Mineral Springs Road District will meet in regular session at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 3 at the district road barn. The tentative agenda includes road condition updates and chip and seal projects.
