Maynard Leroy Swisher
Maynard Leroy Swisher, 90, passed away at his home on Wednesday, Sept. 25, 2013. He was born the son of Jobe and Blanche Nickel Swisher, on April 2, 1923, in McCracken, Kan.
He joined the Navy at age 17 and was a veteran of World War II and the Korean War.
He married Betty Phillips in San Diego, Calif., and they were married 10 days later. They were married for nearly 60 years before Betty passed away.
He was an electrician for many years in Idaho and California before retiring in Missouri.
Survivors include: two daughters, JobieAnn Artherton and her husband, Robert, of Cassville, and Tina Hofmann and her husband, Wayne, of Utah; 14 grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by his brothers, Edward and Lyle; sister, Mildred; and a grandson.
He is a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Cassville where funeral services were held Tuesday. Burial was at Goodnight Cemetery at Purdy. Funeral services were under the direction of Fohn Funeral Home, Cassville.
