Zombie Fest continues

The Cassville Branch Library continues Zombie Fest at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 14 at the library. Snacks, door prizes and the showing of the second part of the second season of a popular television series. For more information, call 847-2121.

Genealogical Society to meet

The Barry County Genealogical and Historical Society will hold meet at 7 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 16 at the Barry County Museum, located on Highway 112 south of Cassville. Joyce Cusick, of Cassville, a recently published author, will speak on the Anderson lineage to her family's genealogy. All interested persons are invited to attend.

Code Yellow

The Community Blood Center of the Ozarks has issued a Code Yellow, indicating some blood reserves are in short supply. A blood drive is scheduled from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 13, at Mercy Hospital, 94 Main St. in Cassville.

Purdy Outlaws registration

The Purdy Outlaws 12 and under traveling baseball team will hold try-outs for the 2014 season at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 21, at the ball field in Purdy. For more information, call Danny Boyd at 417-342-3290.

Lego Club meeting moved

The Eagle Rock Lego Club has moved to Thursday nights, The event will continue on Saturdays, also. The club will meet at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 14, and Thursday, Oct. 3, at the Eagle Rock Branch Library. This club is free to all children. Senior Fair planned

The OACAC 2013 Senior Fair will be held at the Crowder College Cassville Campus Community Center from 8 a.m. to noon on Friday, Sept. 20. Seniors can find information on various service agencies including assisted living, in-home health care, pre-arranged funeral plans, local medical supply vendors and nutrition and more. Vision, hearing and dental screenings are planned.

Shakin' in the Shell fest slated

The 8th annual Shakin' in the Shell Festival is scheduled for 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 21, at the Chamber Park in Shell Knob. The festival will feature a classic car show, food fair, craft and business vendors, a children's area and inflatable toys. Also on tap are an ugly dog contest and a beer garden. Home school art program

Oak Ridge Missionary hosts guest speaker

Train ride to Van Buren, Ark., slated

The Seligman Chamber of Commerce is planning a train ride to Van Buren, Ark., in observance of Arts and Crafts Days on Saturday, Oct. 12. The all-day trip includes a trip through the Boston Mountains over rivers and three trestles and through the Winslow Tunnel for shopping in Van Buren. Eagle Rock Daze

Mark your calendars now for Eagle Rock Daze, taking place from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 26. Breakfast, hosted by the Eagle Rock-Golden-Mano Fire Department, will kick off the event at 7 a.m., and will feature eggs, bacon, sausage, biscuits and gravy and a beverage for $6. A car show is slated for 10 a.m., followed by "Howloween," starting at 3 p.m. Booth and vendor spaces are still available at a cost of $20. For more information, call John Stilwell at 342-7923.

Dream seminar slated

The Downtown Revitalization and Economic Assistance for Missouri (DREAM) Initiative will host a seminar at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 19, at Towneley Furnishings, located at 807 Main St. in Cassville. Cruise-In slated

The Cassville Cruisers will host its monthly "cruise-in" at 5 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 14 at the Barry County Museum, located on Highway112 south of Cassville. Concessions will be served by Habitat for Humanity of South Barry County.

Senior dance planned

The Cassville Senior Center will host a community dance from 7 to 10 p.m. on Sept. 14, at the center located at 1111 Fair St. in Cassville. Roaring River Sounds will perform. S.K.I.T.S. to host drawing

Shell Knob in the Spotlight (S.K.I.T.S.) will hold a drawing for prizes donated by local merchants at 4:30 p.m. at the Shakin' in the Shell Fest on Sept. 21.
