Marjorie Clark Askew
Marjorie Clark Askew, of Eagle Rock, passed away Thursday, Sept. 5, 2013. She was born on May 6, 1927, to Audley and Cora Clark in Butler, where she grew up with her seven siblings. She was the last survivor. She was also preceded in death by a grandson.
She married Glen E. Askew on Sept. 4, 1948. They enjoyed 65 years of marriage together. They had three daughters; Glenda Briscoe (Ed), of Basehor, Kan., Rhonda Askew, of Kansas City, and Sondra Branham (David), of Westwood, Kan.
She sold custom furnishings and draperies for The Jones Store Company of Kansas City. Prior to that, she sold real estate for the Leonard Realty Company.
Survivors include: five grandchildren; and three sisters-in-law. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Cassville.
Funeral services were held Monday in Fohn Funeral Home, Cassville. Rev. James Weaver and Rev. John Duncan conducted the services. Graveside services were held at 2:30 p.m. Monday at the Butler Cemetery in Butler, under the direction of Fohn Funeral Home, Cassville. Rev. James Weaver conducted the graveside services.
