Elsie Marie Scheuerman, 87, of Shell Knob, passed away Saturday, Aug. 31, 2013, in Mercy Hospital, Springfield.

She was born April 11, 1926, in Delta, Colo., the daughter of Bryan and Elsie (Reeder) Smith. On March 2, 1944, in Bison, Kan., she was united in marriage to Edwin Benjamin Scheuerman, who preceded her in death on Nov. 9, 2000. Also preceding her in death were her parents; one son, Earl Scheuerman; two brothers, Chuck and Harold Smith; and a grandson.

Survivors include: two sons, Edwin Leroy Scheuerman and his wife, Dolores, of Monett, and Dexter Jay Scheuerman and his wife, LaDonna, of Shell Knob; three daughters, Jackie Hubbs and her husband, Donnie, of Redvale, Colo., Joyce Myddelton and her husband, Donnie of Gore, Oklahoma and Tibby Durossette and John Guthrie of Shell Knob; one sister, Norma Jane Coman of Montrose, Colo.; 20 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; 11 great-great-grandchildren.

She grew up and received her education in Colorado, graduating from high school in Olathe, Colo. She was a homemaker and farmed. She resided in Naturita, Colo., several years, where she and her husband raised corn and onions. In 1979, they moved to Shell Knob to make their home.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday in Fohn Funeral Home, Shell Knob. Pastor Lonnie Stockton will conduct the services. Burial will be in Lake Park Memorial Gardens, Shell Knob.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday in Fohn Funeral Home, Shell Knob.
