70th anniversary

Paul and Wanda Cordell, of Rocky Comfort, will celebrate their 70th wedding anniversary Aug. 31, 2013, with a surprise party at their home with friends and family. Wanda Pixley and Paul Cordell were married on Aug. 31, 1943, at the parsonage on 17th & Olympia in Tulsa, Okla., with the Rev. William Crider presiding. They lived in Tulsa most of their married life, moving to Rocky Comfort in 2001. Paul was in the U.S. Marine Corps serving his country in Hawaii and Japan. He retired from American Airlines in 1985. Paul was a avid fisherman and hunter in his younger days. Wanda worked at the Enardo Foundry in Tulsa and was the first woman inducted into the Workers Union. Their family, Thomas and Janece from Muskogee, Okla., and George and Valerie from Broken Arrow, Okla., will also be attending their milestone celebration.
