Young thinclads to pace Cassville XC

Wednesday, August 28, 2013

Cassville cross-country coach Chris Shore begins the 2013-14 season in an enviable position.

Shore has a large middle school turnout and a larger group of high school runners and no seniors.

"We are going to be young but I really like our group," said Shore. "We have some athletic newcomers that could be an immediate impact. We are going to have a record number of kids out this year for both high school and middle school."

Returning for Cassville are: Nathan Vitt, Jonah Bundy, Lane Madison, Riley Lekarczyk, Kyle Stephenson, Jeff Crumpler and Mathew Vermillion, juniors; Alex Dyer, Tyler Speakman, Chad Howerton and Ryann Greene, sophomores; and Jordan Campbell, freshmen.

The Cassville cross-country team hits the area trails on Sept. 12 at Seneca.
