Lee Jones, 87, of Clanton Ala., formerly of Cassville, passed away on Wednesday, July 31, 2013, at Shelby Baptist Medical Center in Alabaster, Ala. He was born on May 3, 1926, son of Clint and Nina (Babbs) Jones in VeVay Park, Ill. On Oct. 7, 1945, he was united in marriage to Wilma Williams in Noblesville, Ind. She preceded him in death on Sept. 1, 2011. They owned and operated Roaring River Resort for several years before retiring. They attended the First Baptist Church in Cassville.
Survivors include: one son, Tim Jones and his wife, Jeri, of Clanton, Ala.; one daughter, Barbara Goslee, of Bentonville, Ark.; one brother, Dale Jones, of Houston, Texas; one sister Marilyn Hockman, of Quincy, Ill.; five grandchildren; and 11 great grandchildren.
In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by seven brothers and two sisters.
Funeral services were held on Monday at the White Funeral Home, Cassville, with Rev. James Weaver officiating. Burial followed at Oak Hill Cemetery, Cassville.
