One killed, two injured in weekend wrecks
A Rocky Comfort man is dead following a single-vehicle crash at 7:10 p.m. on Saturday on Highway 76 at Rocky Comfort.
According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, the crash occurred when the driver of a 2003 Dodge Avenger, Bobby L. Priest, 43, of Rocky Comfort, ran off the left side of the roadway, struck a tree and overturned. He was not wearing a seat belt. McDonald County Coroner Dowd McDonald pronounced Priest dead at 9 p.m.
A passenger in the vehicle, Emma Jett, 4, was taken to Freeman Hospital in Joplin with minor injuries. She was wearing a set belt.
This is Troop D's 57th fatality crash for the year.
* An Aurora man was injured in a single-vehicle crash at 8:38 p.m. on Sunday on TT Highway about a mile west of Reavisville. The crash occurred when the driver of a 1999 Ford pickup, Christopher J. Rowe, 29, of Aurora, ran off the roadway and struck a tree. Rowe was taken to Cox Hospital South in Springfield with minor injuries.
