Murl "Nadine" Smith

Murl "Nadine" Smith, 80, of Cassville, passed away Wednesday, July 17, 2013, in Cox Medical Cen- ter South, Springfield.

She was born July 16, 1933, in Morriston, Ark., to Martha Priscilla (Cozort) and Van Bernie Armstrong. On Aug. 1, 1952, she was united in marriage to Robert Alonzo Smith, who survives.

Additional survivors include: six children, Robert Alonzo Smith, Jr., and his wife, Lois, of Whitesburg, Ga., Van Smith, of Cassville, Marnette Ballowe and her husband, Bill, of Great Falls, Mont., Melanie McKiernin and her husband, Mike, of Great Falls, Mont., Kenneth Smith and his wife, Debbie, of Eureka Springs, Ark., and Lynelle Barbara Caldwell and her husband, Chris, of Durango, Colo.; 15 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; five brothers and sisters, Geneva Smith, of Mammoth Springs, Ark., Elsie Holman, of Thayer, Dave Armstrong and his wife, Loretta, of Moundridge, Kan., and Veneda Dillard, of Orion, Mich.; and a sister-in-law, Lorene Armstrong, of Thayer.

Preceding her in death were her parents and four brothers and sisters, Jeanette Laverne Romine, Cletus "Pete" Armstrong, Cloyce Vernon Armstrong and Wilma Fern Cherry.

She received her education in Mammoth Springs, Ark., where she graduated from high school. She then attended Harding University in Searcy, Ark. She worked as the first female career consultant in Montana. After she and Bob retired, they traveled around the Unit- ed States as sojourners for Christ until they settled in Missouri. For several years, she volunteered for the Area Agency on Aging.

She was a member of Mill Street Church of Christ in Cassville, where memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday. Jon McCormick, of Mill Street Church of Christ, and Ken West, of Washburn Church of Christ, will conduct the services.

Cremation arrangements are under direction of Fohn Funeral Home, Cass- ville.
