Bee Yang, 61, of Purdy, passed away Saturday, June 22, 2013, in Cox Medical Center South, Springfield.
He was born Jan. 19, 1952, in Xieng Khouang, Laos, the son of Boua Fue Yang and Mai Lee, who preceded him in death. Also preceding him in death was a son, Soua Yang.
Survivors include: his wife, Youa Lee, of the home; three sons, Jai Yang, Thong Kham Yang and Koua Yang, all of Purdy; four daughters, Nou Yang, Mai See Yang, Blia Yang and Mai Xong Yang, all of Purdy; one brother, Zeb Yang, of St. Paul, Minn.; two sisters, Yed Yang, of Laos, and Chi Yang, of Tulsa, Okla.; and two grandchildren.
He was born and raised in Laos. He served his country proudly in Laos and the U.S. Army Dense Corps and Civil/Military Reserve Support Command, where he was a captain. He came to the United States nine years ago and moved to Purdy two years ago.
Services were held July 6 until Monday, July 8 in McQueen Funeral Home, Wheaton. Burial with military honors was held July 8 at Dice Cemetery, Fairview.
