Wednesday, July 3, 2013

Wheaton's native sons, Joshua Kennedy and Ryan Prier, along with Chico Diaz, of Phoenix, Ariz., will be headlining a free concert event on July 4 at the Wheaton City Park. The event gets underway at 5:30 p.m. and is a fundraiser for the Wheaton Fire Department.

The trio, known as The Black Moods, is based in Los Angeles, Calif., and is touring the country promoting their first album, a self-titled debut featuring "Hey You," the single chosen for the groups' first YouTube video.

The Black Moods, along with opening act Second Chance, will provide musical entertainment, including cover songs from the likes of the Eagles and Oasis, along with original material.

Fireworks will begin immediately following the show.

Concessions will be available, including hot dogs, hamburgers, watermelon and beverages. Merchandise will also be available.

This is an alcohol-free, family-friendly event. Those attending are urged to bring lawn chairs.
