CMS to host volleyball camp

A Cassville Middle School volleyball camp for seventh and eighth-grade girls will be held Monday, July 1 through Wednesday, July 3 in the middle school gym from 8 a.m. to noon. Red Rose to host fireworks display

Red Rose Health and Rehab in Cassville will host its annual fireworks display on Saturday, July 29. Trent Huse will provide entertainment at 8 p.m. followed by the fireworks at dusk. The event is free to the public.

Eggs and issues breakfast planned

Cassville Area Chamber of Commerce members are invited to attend CenturyLink's Eggs and Issues Breakfast at 7:30 a.m. on Tuesday, July 30 in Mercy Hospital Cassville's conference room C. Sen. David Sater and Rep. Scott Fitzpatrick will report on the 2013 legislative session.

Library branches to close on July Fourth

All branches of the Barry-Lawrence Regional Library system will be closed on Thursday, July 4 in observance of the Independence Day holiday.

CHS Class of 1993 to host reunion

The Cassville High School Class of 1993 will hold its 20-year class reunion on June 29 at the Cassville Golf Course clubhouse. Activities start at 5 p.m. with a group photo at 6 p.m. and a barbecue dinner at 6:30 p.m. The cost for the dinner is $15 per person, and those who plan to attend are to RSVP to Jeff Duncan at by June 22 or go the Cassville Twenty Year Reunion page on Facebook for more information. All classmates are encouraged to attend.

Ribbon-cutting planned at Casey's

Casey's General Store, located at 33 S. Main St. in Cassville, is the newest member of the Cassville Area Chamber of Commerce. A ribbon-cutting ceremony will be held at the covenience store at 8:30 a.m. on Tuesday, July 9. Chamber members and the public are invited to attend.

Red Cross blood drives planned

A pair of American Red Cross blood drives will be held on Wednesday, July 3 at George's Inc., in Cassville. The first will be held from 3:30 to 9:30 p.m. and the second will take place from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Swap meet to be held in Seligman

The Seligman Chamber of Commerce will hold a swap meet on Friday, June 28 and Saturday, June 29 at the Seligman Chamber Event Center on Highway 37. Booth rent is $30 for two days. Tables are still available. For more information or to reserve booth space, call 417-662-3612 or 479-381-2133.

CBCO hosts two area blood drives

Community Blood Center of the Ozarks will host two blood drives in the coming week. The first drive will be held from noon to 5 p.m. at St. John Lutheran's Chuch at 1706 N. Ninth in Monett, and the second will take place from 1 to 6 p.m. on July 3 at the Walmart Supercenter in Monett.

Fly-in to be held at Turkey Mountain

The Turkey Mountain Airport near Shell Knob will host its monthly fly-in beginning at 8 a.m. on Saturday, June 29. Those attending can enjoy breakfast and watch both vintage and new planes take off and land. For more informatio about the free event, call Judy Reynolds aqt 417-858-6345.

Purdy alumni plan annual meeting

The Purdy Schools Alumni Association will hold its annual meeting on Saturday, June 29 at the school. Registration and fellowship will be from 6 to 6:30 p.m. followed by the program from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Classes will be recognized by years, three scholarships will be awarded, and there will be discussion of old and new business. The honored class will be the Class of 1963. Hosts for the evening are members of the Class of 1962.

County offices to be closed July Fourth

The Barry County Courthouse and the Barry County Judicial Center in Cassville will be closed on Thursday, July 4 for the Independence Day holiday. Offices will reopen on Friday, July 5.

Road districts to hold meetings

The Mineral Springs Road District will meet in regular session at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, July 11 at the district road barn. The Corsicana Special Road District will meet at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, July 2 in the Purdy Community Building. Both meetings are open to the public.

Free seminar to be held in Monett

A free seminar on "EEO/Employment Law" will be held from noon to 2 p.m. on Thursday, June 27 at Big Baldy's in Monett. Cornell Dillard, from the Missouri Department of Labor, will be speaking about unlawful harassment, anti-discrimination laws, hostile work environments and more. Waste management district to meet

The Southwest Missouri Solid Waste Management District will hold its regularly scheduled executive board meeting at 11:50 a.m. on Tuesday, July 9 at Alice Irene's Restaurant in Marionville. The meeting is open to the public.
