Fatal wreck closes down Highway 37

Highway 37 north of Purdy was closed following a fatality accident this afternoon (June 18). According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, a southbound passenger vehicle crossed the center line and drove into the path of a northbound tractor-trailer. The vehicle burst into flames resulting in one fatality. Approximately 1,000 gallons of diesel fuel spilled onto the highway, and emergency crews are working to clean and clear the highway.
