Helen "Imogene" Caywood, 78, of Exeter, passed away Sunday, May 19, 2013, in Mercy Hospital in Springfield.
She was born Feb. 2, 1935, in Exeter, the daughter of Clovis and Helen Lucy (Smith) Packwood. On Nov. 8, 1952, in Eureka Springs, Ark., she was united in marriage to Paul Caywood, who survives.
Addditional survivors include: five daughters, Paula Jean Smith and her husband, Roger, of Pleasant Hill, Donna Lynn Hahner and her husband, Kenny, of Raymore, Robin Rae Hunt and her husband, Bob, of Pleasant Hill, Sonyia Louise Burch and her husband, Jacob, of Lee's Summit, and Martha Rachelle Farrell and her husband, Jimmy, of Belton; two brothers, Verdain Packwood, of Wheaton, and Harold Packwood and his wife, Joy, of Exeter; one sister, Betty Kaiser, of Exeter; 14 grandchildren; and 21 great- grandchildren.
Preceding her in death were her parents and one brother, Leon Packwood.
She grew up in Exeter, and received her education at Hazel Dell Rural School. After their marriage, she and Paul moved to Kansas City, living there until Paul's retirement in 1996, except for a short time in the 1960s. Imogene was a homemaker and was a member of Ridgley Church of Christ in Ridgley.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, with visitation from 6 to 8 p.m. today (Wednesday) in Wallace Funeral Home, Pleasant Hill. Lucas Guittar will conduct the services. Burial will be at Pleasant Hill Cemetery.
