Joan L. Miller, 83, of Monett, passed away on Thursday, May 9, 2013, at Lacoba Nursing Home, Monett.
She was born on May 28, 1929, in Salina, Kan., daughter of Walter and Estella (Harrington) Crosby. She grew up and graduated from high school in Salina. Her husband, Melvin Miller, preceded her in death on July 2, 1997. She was a homemaker and was a member of the Emmanuel Baptist Church in Edenton, N.C.
Survivors include: four daughters, Micky Gardner and her husband, Earl, of Eagle Rock, Martha Farmer and her husband, Gary, of Edenton, N.C., Dianne Farence and her husband, Doug, of Mechanicsburg, Penn., and Connie Miller, of Tulsa, Okla.; one daughter-in-law, Rhonda Miller, of Owasso, Okla.; one brother, James Crosby, of Lyons, Kan.; 17 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson.
In addition to her husband, and her parents, she was preceded in death by one daughter, Tracy Miller; one son, Walter Miller; two brothers; eight sisters; and one great-grandchild.
Services will held Tuesday at the White Funeral Home and Crematory in Cassville, with Pastor Wes Stewart officiating. The cremains will be buried in North Carolina at a later date.
