Melanie Stringer, pictured above, at left, will serve as Cassville Middle School principal during the 2013-14 school year. Stringer, who has been a staff member at the Cassville R-4 School District for six years, has served as the assistant middle school principal, under Terry Jamieson, for the last two years. Ben Abramovitz, current primary physical education teacher, will move into the position of assistant middle school principal. Abramovitz has worked for the district for five years. In addition to approving the promotion of Abramovitz during a special meeting on April 29, the Cassville School Board hired Robbie Artherton as primary physical education teacher, Julie Cupps as primary library and media instructor and Aubry Kruse as an intermediate school third grade teacher. Kruse will replace Mindi Gates who has accepted a kindergarten through 12th grade instructional coach position at the Purdy R-2 School District for the 2013-14 school year. Gates will serve as Purdy's curriculum and professional development coordinator.
