Muzzleloaders competition slated next weekend
Registration fee is $5. No registration is required for junior matches. National Muzzle Loading Rifle Association rules will apply.
There will be nine divisions of competition. The "any weight" rifle division will include five shots each from a bench position at 50 and 100 yards. The winner will receive the Roderick Rotating Trophy.
The "light rifle" division, for guns 14 pounds or less, is offered for bench and off-hand competition at 50 and 100 yards. The winner will receive the Ray Bell Rotating Trophy.
The "flintlock rifle" match will involve guns of 15 pounds or less, again in the bench and off-hand positions at 50 and 100 yards. The winner will receive the George Gunther Rotating Trophy.
"Off hand" matches will be held at 50 yards in a separate division. The winner will receive the Bob Nichols Rotating Trophy.
The ladies rifle matches will involve guns of any weight in bench and off-hand positions at 50 and 100 yards. The winner will receive the James Holland Rotating Trophy.
There will be a junior division for contestants 16 years of age or younger, and a sub-junior division for contestants age 11 or younger. All shooting will be from the bench position. The junior division winner will receive the Emil Ziegler Rotating Trophy.
There will also be a Scotch Cup match, using rifles of any weight. Matches will all be at 50 yards from the bench position.
Hunter class matches will all be from 50 yards in the off-hand position, using open sights.
