Laura Lynne Armstrong and Eric Rittenhouse Ulmer were united in marriage on Saturday, March 23, 2013, at Deer Creek Golf Club in Overland Park, Kan. The ceremony was officiated by Chaplain Tim Brooks. Guests enjoyed a fruit and cheese bar and viewed a projection presentation showing pictures of the couple as they grew up. A buffet dinner followed. The bride is the daughter of Brenda and Randy Solomon, of De Soto. The groom is the son of Cheryl and Eddie Ulmer, of Purdy. Escorted by her mother and brother, the bride wore a strapless lace mermaid gown with a sweetheart neckline and a beaded sash. Erin Armstrong, of Kansas City, sister of the bride, served as maid of honor. Bridesmaids included Rachel Dorson, of Jefferson City, Sarah McMahan, of Potosi, and Amanda Boyer, of Potosi. The flower girl was Mya Platz, of Rogers, Ark., niece of the groom. Travis Ulmer, of Purdy, the groom's brother, served as best man. Groomsmen included Kyle Bishop, of Cassville, Chad Johnson, of Kansas City, and Matt Perry, of Madison, Ala., formerly of Cassville. The ring bearer was Garrett Platz, nephew of the groom. The bride is a graduate of Potosi High School in Potosi and Central Methodist University in Fayette. She will graduate in May from Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences in Kansas City with a doctor of osteopathic medicine degree. Eric is a 2005 graduate of Cassville High School. He graduated in May 2009 from Central Methodist University with a bachelor's degree in entrepreneurship. He is currently employed as a manager at Mar-Beck Appliance in Kansas City. Following a honeymoon in Riviera Maya, Mexico, the couple will be moving from Kansas City to Des Moines, Iowa. Laura will begin her residency at Mercy Medical Center in July, while Eric is looking into job opportunities in the Des Moines area.
