Purdy races past Exeter for 15-3 win

The Purdy Eagles used two big innings to power past the Exeter Tigers 15-3 on April 24.

The Eagles scored three runs in the first and seven runs in the second frame to lead 10-0.

"We put the ball in play early and good things happened," said Purdy coach Joshua Hughes. "Every day we are getting a little better."

Purdy collected 14 hits, seven walks and 12 RBIs in 30 plate appearances.

Eight of the Eagles' nine batters collected at least one hit.

Jared Smith and Keevin Walker were a perfect two for two with a pair of walks in their four plate appearances.

Robby Moody collected four RBIs for the black and yellow and Tyler Scott drove in two more runs.

Smith, Walker, Heath Burnside and Moody had multiple hits for Purdy.

Walker earned the win on the mound. He threw four and two third innings, allowed three hits, three runs and struck out four.
