Mary Alice Thien, 69, of Seligman, passed away Thursday, April 18, 2013, in Circle of Life Hospice Center in Bentonville, Ark.

She was born Dec. 15, 1943, in White Hall, Ill., the daughter of Howard and Kathryn (Christian) Landreth. On Oct. 10, 1962, in Roodhouse, Ill., she was united in marriage to Ralph "Ed" Thien, who survives. Additional survivors include: one son, Michael Lynn Thien, of Jeanette, Penn.; one daughter, Kathryn B. Norman, of Seligman; her mother, Kathryn Landreth, of Roodhouse, Ill.; and one granddaughter.

Preceding her in death were her father; two daughters, Cindy Lou and Patricia Ann; and one son, Howard B.

She grew up and received her education in Roodhouse, Ill., where she graduated from high school. Being a military wife, she and her husband lived in various locations while Ed served in the U.S. Air Force over 30 years. Four years ago, they moved from Niceville, Fla., to Seligman, to make their home.

Private services will be held at a later date. Cremation arrangements are under direction of Fohn Funeral Home, Cassville.
