City-wide clean-up is May 6 through May 10
The City of Cassville will hold its annual spring clean-up Monday, May 6 through Friday, May 10. Republic Services (formerly Allied Waste) will accept additional household waste and large items on regular collection days.
The following items will be accepted at the curb: barbecue grills; patio furniture; outdoor furniture; sofas; dressers; love seats; recliners; desks; televisions; bundled guttering; beds, including hide-a-beds, mattresses and box springs; wood pallets; and bicycles.
Waste from small remodeling or wood projects and fencing will also be accepted. Materials must be cut into four-foot lengths and bundled.
Republic Services will not accept tires, yard waste, large quantities of ash, dead animals, raw sewage, waste oil, hazardous materials, wet paint containers, chemicals, flammable substances, lead or acid batteries or waste from large remodeling or construction projects.
Metal and large appliances will be accepted at a dumpster at 503 Mill St., across from the Barry County Sheriff's Office, in Cassville. Materials can be disposed of at the dumpster at no charge.
Cassville residents can also dispose of large appliances at the curb. This service comes with a $15 charge, which must be paid at the Cassville City Hall by Friday, May 3.
Large appliances that will be accepted at the curb include: dishwashers; washing machines; dryers; hot water heaters; stoves; and refrigerators, freezers and air conditioners that display a tag from a licensed technician proving that the freon has been removed from the appliance.
Although yard waste will not be accepted by Republic Services, it can be disposed of at the city's yard waste facility behind the Cassville Aquatic Park.
