Taking the helm as Barry County public administrator in January, Pam Modlin is settling into the new role well. "I find my clients fascinating," Modlin said. "They all have stories to tell." As public administrator, Modlin makes sure her court-appointed clients have what they need. "Some are in apartments, some in skilled nursing facilities and others are in assisted living," she said. "I'm getting to visit with each of my clients, along with other team care members and service providers, to make sure their needs, care plans and goals are being met." Taking over the extensive list of clients will be nearly a year-long process. "Barb [White], the former public administrator, retired, and as she clears out the annual settlements, she turns the cases over to me," Modlin said. "It's not so overwhelming that way. There is no 'routine' to this job. Every day, every client, is unique. It's a challenge, and it's exciting. I love the job." Modlin can be reached at 847-2005. Her office is located at 102 West St. Suite 5 in Cassville.
