Two Barry County men were arrested after officers with the Missouri State Highway Patrol and the Barry County Sheriff's Office served a search warrant at a Monett home in the early morning hours of April 5.708 Fourth St. in Monett at 7:30 a.m. on April 5.

Ricky W. Goodine, 55, of Monett, was charged with two counts of possession of a controlled substance with the intent to distribute.

According to a probable cause statement filed by Sgt. Travis Hitchcock with the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Goodine was in the residence at 708 Fourth St. in Monett when officers arrived to conduct the search warrant and claimed he resided there. After Hitchcock read the warrant and advised Goodine of his Miranda Rights, Goodine led Hitchcock to a safe in his bedroom.

Goodine provided Hitchcock with the combination to the safe. Inside the safe, Hitchcock discovered 56 grams of marijuana contained in eight approximately seven-gram bags. Goodine admitted to officers that he was selling marijuana.

In addition, Hitchcock located a pill bottle in the safe that contained 88 capsules of what was identified as 10-milligram oxycodone tablets. Goodine said he did not have a prescription for the tablets, but he did not admit to selling them.

Hitchcock found a folded up $5 bill inside the top of the pill bottle and a piece of paper in Goodine's effects that showed street prices for controlled pharmaceutical drugs. Hitchcock also found a digital scale in Goodine's possession.

A second subject, Anthony W. Hinten, 21, was also taken into custody at the residence on two felony warrants out of Boone County.

Both men were transported to the Barry County Jail.
